Antonio Desmonts is a Spanish architect based in La Coruña, with over two decades of professional experience. His work is defined by a balance between functionality, spatial clarity, and a deep respect for urban context and sustainability. He began his architectural studies at the School of Architecture in La Coruña before completing his degree at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, where he specialized in Urban Planning and the Restoration of Historic Centers. During this period, he collaborated with the renowned studio of Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá, contributing to a range of architectural projects. In 1999, he established his own practice in La Coruña, assembling a multidisciplinary team of professionals and consultants. Since then, he has led a diverse portfolio of projects across Spain, Portugal, Italy, and France, ranging from public buildings and urban interventions to cultural and technical facilities. His work is marked by a commitment to sustainable design, technical precision, and the integration of architecture within its surroundings. In 2011, he was awarded the prestigious LEAF Award in London for the Port Control Building (CCS) in Ferrol, recognised as the Best Public Building of the Year. While his practice engages in a broad spectrum of architectural work, it is particularly distinguished by its expertise in designing sports complexes and hotel developments that prioritize user experience, environmental responsibility, and architectural coherence.
